This is a platform to facilitate the learning and discussion of the topics so that you can carry out your sharing and discussions online without having to meet with your other school mates for the E2K Virtual Local Competition.
. Date: 9 Feb 2012, Thursday Time: 3 to 5 pm Venue: Science Lab 1 The "White as Snow" virtual science competition deals with various aspects of white substances. Below is the list of the main topics covered in the activity:
Color, transparency, reflection and refraction
Metric units of length (nm – km)
States of matter
Web resources to help you prepare for the competition:
The E2K chapters "Beam of Light" and "The Painted Solar Heaters" are also relevant. ( I'll be attaching the notes on them later. Do look out for them.) During the session, you will answer questions and conduct experiments in groups. The competition starts at 3 pm but you are to report at 2 pm on that day to be briefed about the competition procedure and instructions.
